The Posture Pinnie is designed for patients who have little posture control when sitting. They may spend most of the time leaning forward in a chair with their chest virtually resting on their knees.
About the Posture Pinnie
It is made from light-weight polycotton material that is patterned to look like a pinnie on the patient. For men we produce it in a plain blue polycotton.
Sewn to the inside are three sets of webbing straps. One set is passed over the shoulders, the second across the chest and under the arms. These 50mm / 2″ wide straps provide a good posture position for the patient for the upper body. The third 50mm / 2″ strap can be positioned either in the pelvic area or across the thighs and fastened under the chair, or around the waist and fastened behind the chairs.
The chest strap should be fastened behind the back of the chair and the shoulder straps should be wrapped around the two rear chair legs before doing the buckle up behind the back of the chair, adjusting to size.
General Public Restraint Authorisation Letter: If this product is purchased for use in a private home, we require authorisation from a suitable person. This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor; or another suitably qualified person.
